I wanted to make my first blog post about manifesting because it's such an important part of how we meet our goals and become the people we want to be.
When you work on manifesting something you're making it clear or evident.
When I talk about manifesting, I'm talking about making your desires, wants, goals, and needs clear to the Universe/Divine/Higher Self/Creator (whatever you like to call it).
There are a lot of ways people try to manifest their desires; Through meditation, prayer, hard work, connecting with the Divine...etc. Some people try it through not so great methods like manipulation, intimidation, force, just sitting there and hoping something will change...etc. The distinction between these two ways of manifesting is ego vs. spirit. Spirit will always guide you in a positive way. Ego tends to work from a place of wounded self.
If you're trying to manifest through Spirit and you've found a way that works for you, then fantastic! Keep doing what works for you!
Today, I just wanted to share one way that manifesting works for me. It's called "The Spiral Ceremony." It's one way that I connect with the Divine through working with my angels, guides, and Higher Self on manifesting my goals.
The Spiral Ceremony
You will need the following items:
~ 3 pieces of blank paper
~ one #2 pencil
~ matches or a lighter
~ sage incense or sage stick
~ a hard surface to write on
~ some type of fire resistant bowl or plate
1. Find your "power place." Everyone has a place that makes them feel calm, peaceful, grounded, connected, safe, and free. It doesn't matter where it's at. If it's your bathroom, kitchen, a nearby park...wherever. But go to that peaceful, calming place where you go to center yourself and feel safe and serene.
2. Consciously and completely surround yourself in a protective pink light. You may also want to ask your angels, guides, Higher Self, and/or Higher Power for their support and guidance. I also light sage incense or sage incense stick. This helps the negative energy move out of your life freely.
3. Next you're going to write two lists:
>> The first list should be all the beliefs, people, and circumstances you want OUT of your life. You write this list on your first piece of blank paper. Some examples of what you can write are: fear, hatred, feeling unsafe, feeling blocked, negative people, John/Jane Doe, lack of money, illness, unfulfilling work...etc.
You write down whatever you feel you want out of your life.
>> The second list should be all the beliefs, people, and circumstances you want IN your life. You write this on your second piece of paper. Some examples of what you can write are: love, joy, acceptance, understanding, clarity, connection, enough money to help meet my goals, a healthy body, my pets*, John/Jane Doe*
You write down whatever you feel you want to draw into your life, what you want to KEEP in your life, your goals, and desires.
*Please note, when you write down people and pets make sure you're very clear that this is for the benefit of them and you. Tying people and animals to us that want to leave, are in the process of transitioning to the Other Side, or who aren't good for us is not working for the greater good nor is it from the Higher Self. That's working from a place of ego.
4. On the third blank piece of paper, keep the pencil in continuous contact with the page and draw a spiral on the paper, starting at the outside corner and circling inwards, while reading aloud the list of all the things you want out of your life.
I read aloud the things I want out first while I spiral from the outside right-hand corner of the page and go counterclockwise into center. I also visualize it like a drain. Since I'm in the northern hemisphere, water goes down the drain clockwise, so when I draw the negative spiral counterclockwise, it's like I'm forcing the negative down the drain. If you're in the southern hemisphere and you want to do the reverse, that's fine too.
5. Then on the SAME piece of paper you did the things you want out of your life--From the center of that spiral (not the outer edge), start circling clockwise back out to the edge of the page while saying your positive things. Again, if you're in the Southern Hemisphere, you can do the reverse.
6. When you reach the end, continue spiraling your pencil into the air while saying "As it is and always will be. Make it so." Some people like to say "Harm to none, so mote it be" if they're Wiccan. Some just say "Amen." Do whatever feels right for you. This is a very PERSONAL process and ritual. Tweak it ANY way that feels right to you and that resonates with you.
8. Burn the first list (all the things you want OUT). Some people like to burn from the corner. I find it burns easier when I hold the lighter/match in the center of the paper. But again, do what feels right to you.
9. Burn the second list (all the things you want IN).
10. Burn the piece of paper that you drew the spirals on.
11. Discard the ashes. As far as the ashes go, it's up to you what you want to do with them. Some people let them blow away in the wind. You can rinse them down the drain, flush them, bury them, compost them...etc. Because I have a stream in my back yard that I use for rituals, I take my bowl of burnt ashes and wash them down the stream. If you're at the ocean, you can also rinse your ashes into the ocean as well. It's up to you.
I also don't think it matters in which way you burn the pages. You can do them in whatever order or all at once. I just feel most comfortable doing negative first, then positive, then spiral last.
The important thing is to do the spirals on the same page and then burn all 3 after you're done.
12. Put your feet in the ocean. The idea behind this is that the ocean carries away everything you don't want and then draws to you everything you do want with each wave that comes and goes. In my case, I don't have an ocean nearby, so I soak my feet in a salt water bath (use sea salt if possible) in my kitchen sink for a few minutes. Then let it drain out completely while your feet are in the sink. I envision what I want OUT going down the drain and the things I want to come IN being carried out to the sea and working its way back to me.
13. If you are working through a particularly difficult issue or a deeply-rooted set of beliefs, you may choose to do this ceremony seven times (within 7-10 days). The number seven is a powerful number. Some people do it just once as a way to manifest their goals for the day, some do it for a few days while working on a project, and some do it for all seven days if they are really trying to manifest serious changes in their life.
If you are doing it for seven days, then you start the ritual all over again. You don't save the old lists nor the spiral and burn them all on the last day. You just repeat the steps again with 3 fresh pieces of paper every day.
I only have one warning for you when doing the Spiral Ceremony and that is: Be careful what you spiral for. You know how they say be careful what you wish for? Well in this case, it's be careful what you spiral for. The Universe has a way of helping you create space in order to manifest your goals. It's hard to manifest goals when your life is so crammed with things that no longer serve you that you're consciously or unconsciously holding onto. Sometimes (and quite often) spirals involve overturning the apple cart. I always view the Spiral Ceremony as really putting full trust not only in your Higher Self, but in the Universe. Sometimes after a spiral it seems that everything is going wrong and maybe your goals aren't being met. This is where trust comes in. Trust that the Universe/Creator/Divine/Higher Self knows what it's doing and is helping you create the necessary changes and is clearing space so that your goals can be met. The Spiral Ceremony will make you work for your goals. Just remember to trust the process and meet the changes and/or challenges with an open heart and open mind.
